Job summary

Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, ID, is seeking a day shift CNA to support patient care on our Medical/Surgical unit under RN supervision. This part-time role emphasizes safety, compassion, and teamwork.

You will document vitals, assist with ADLs, and ensure accurate charting while upholding patient comfort and dignity. BLS must be obtained within 14 days of hire; prior acute or long-term care experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Current CNA Certification in Idaho.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.
• Preferred: knowledge of medical terminology.
• Preferred: 1 year of experience in acute or long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Work in partnership with the registered nurse to support care in a safe patient environment.
• Document data as directed and report observations to the RN.
• Obtain and record patients' vital signs.
• Monitor patients and report changes to the RN.
• Assist patients with ADLs and mobility, including bathing, dressing, eating.
• Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties as needed.
• Participate in hourly rounding and Bedside Shift Report as directed.
• Maintain unit records and stocks of routine supplies.
