Ardent Health Services seeks a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for night shift in Pocatello, ID. This full-time role supports patient care under RN supervision and contributes to a safe, compassionate hospital environment.

The ideal candidate holds Idaho CNA certification, High School diploma or GED, and a current BLS. Prior acute or long-term care experience is preferred, and the role requires adherence to safety protocols and accurate documentation.

• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsabilidades

• Work with the registered nurse to support safe patient care.
• Communicate and carry out delegated tasks under RN supervision.
• Document data, observe and report patient conditions and concerns.
• Ensure safety precautions (call lights, bed alarms, side rails, bed position, seat belts).
• Obtain and record vital signs.
• Monitor patients and report changes promptly.
• Document observations and interventions in the medical record.
• Respond to call lights promptly.
• Assist patients with mobility and ADLs.
• Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping as needed.
• Participate in hourly rounding and bedside shift reports as directed.
• Perform assigned direct/indirect patient care duties and may assist with clerical tasks.
• Maintain unit records and stock supplies.

Responsibilities

• Work in partnership with the registered nurse to support the delivery of care in a safe patient environment that promotes caring and healing.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge and skills necessary to communicate appropriately and carry out delegated tasks for patients under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Document data as directed, and report observations and patient concerns to the registered nurse.
• Ensure all safety precautions are observed, including making sure the call light is within reach, bed alarms are used as appropriate, side rails are up, bed is in the lowest position, seat belts are in place, etc.
• Obtain and record patients' vital signs.
• Monitor patients and report patients’ condition at regular intervals and before completion of shift, and promptly report any signs or symptoms of concern to the appropriate party.
• Ensure accurate documentation of observations and interventions in the medical record.
• Respond promptly to all call lights.
• Assist patients with mobility and basic tasks, such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Provide basic patient transport andhousekeeping duties as needed.
• Participate in Purposeful Hourly Rounding and Bedside Shift Report as directed.
• Perform direct and indirect patient care duties as assigned and may provide clerical support to the assigned unit.
• Maintain unit records and orders/stocks routine supplies for the unit.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High School or GED.
• Current CNA Certification in the State of Idaho.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• 1 year of experience in acute or long-term care.
