Job summary

SELF, Inc. is seeking a Day Room Coordinator for the Phoenix Community Center in Philadelphia. This part-time, non-exempt role ensures a safe, secure facility and compliant participant behavior while supporting program partners.

You will maintain logs, enter notes into HMIS, supervise activities, manage donations, conduct safety drills, and respond to urgent situations, reporting to the Program Director. The position requires strong organization, clear communication, a valid driver’s license,

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED with related human services experience.
• Ability to observe and interpret participant behavior.
• Criminal background clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, secure, and efficient facility.
• Ensure participants are in compliance with agency policies and rules.
• Monitor participant areas; ensure you are visible and continuously interacting with program participants.
• Check for contraband (i.e., illicit drugs, alcohol, weapons) in the facility through observation and searches per protocols.
• Supervise program activities, including internal and external partner programming for participants.
• Attend team meetings and trainings as directed.
• Maintain visitor protocol and follow daily log procedures.
• Follow appropriate critical incident protocols, including documenting events.
• Maintain written records and incident reports as needed.
• Conduct periodic inspections of the facility and grounds to ensure security.
• Lead fire drills and perform safety duties as required.
• Answer telephones and route calls or messages to staff.
• Receive, account for, and secure donations during shifts; provide receipts upon request.
• Enter notes and incident reports into the HMIS system as trained.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
