Job summary

Vinfen is a nonprofit health and human services organization providing community-based supports across Massachusetts and Connecticut. The Program Specialist will lead on program systems, policies, and reporting, and mentor staff in development and outreach, reporting to program directors and site managers.

The role requires five years in human services with supervisory experience; a bachelor’s degree is required with a master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ experience in progressively responsible human services functions, with at least three years in a supervisory capacity.
• Education: high school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred; substitutions may be considered.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to drive Vinfen or personal vehicle; must be at least 21 years old and pass a driving background check.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform duties in a dynamic program environment.
• Required certifications: CPR, First Aid, MAP, Safety Care within specified timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Provide a level of expertise and training in program systems, as needed.
• Provide direction, training, and coaching; conduct program reviews; guide career development.
• Train staff in responding to internal and external data collection and reporting requests.
• Coach staff to optimize effort and foster family and community connections.
• Maintain knowledge of industry issues, trends, and techniques; assist in hiring.
• Apply disciplinary actions when warranted; participate in start-up and design of new programs.
• Develop systems and procedures for division operations; analyze and resolve issues with leadership.
