Job summary

Mgcci in Illinois is seeking a Day Program Coach to support individuals with developmental disabilities at community sites. The role includes coaching, mentoring, and facilitating activities to promote independent living skills and recreational engagement.

You will engage participants in active treatment, advocate for their independence, and deliver direct training while coordinating with interdisciplinary teams. A valid driver’s license and DSP certification are preferred.

Job description

• Advocate on behalf of all program participants, working to foster the individual’s independence and enhancing skills both inside and outside the workplace.


• Provide direct training delivery to individuals in areas including recreational pursuits and independent living skills.


• Maintain interdisciplinary communication and case notes for each individual.

Day Program Coach Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Rehabilitation, or a related field preferred.


• A combination high school diploma/GED and at least 1 year of experience working with people with disabilities will be considered.


• DSP certification


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Valid driver’s license required
