Job summary

Vinfen in Massachusetts seeks a Day Program Activities Assistant to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a Day Program, providing direct care, skill-building, and enrichment. You will help individuals develop self-care, communication, and independent living skills, while promoting dignity and safety.

You will work with small groups, facilitate rehabilitative activities, and maintain documentation and progress notes as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Human Services, Special Education or related field preferred but not required.
• Strong time management, organizational and writing skills.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• CPR and First Aid certification within 2 weeks of employment; MAP certification within 150 days (if applicable).
• Must pass CORI, SORI, reference, and national fingerprinting background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provides instruction and skill building in Self Help, Sensorimotor, Communication, Social Development, Independent living, Behavior Development, Affective Development, Vocational Development and Wellness Development.
• Assists in case management responsibilities as directed.
• Provides input for interdisciplinary team reviews.
• Develops ISPs for persons served and maintains contact with family, funding sources, and ISP team.
