Job summary

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh is seeking a Camp Director to lead the flagship day camp at J&R and coordinate the JCC South Hills Day Camp, ensuring a safe, engaging experience rooted in Jewish values.

The successful candidate will oversee staffing, enrollment, family engagement, and partnerships, while delivering high-quality programming and managing budgets in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Recreation, Social Work or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• At least 5 years of camp, youth development or related program leadership experience with direct staff supervision.
• ACA Camp leadership certification preferred.
• Experience fostering Jewish values and engagement with families.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the day camp program, including staffing, enrollment, safety, and budget management.
• Provide supervision to the JCC South Hills Day Camp Director to ensure consistent standards.
• Develop and implement camper recruitment, family engagement, and community partnerships.
• Lead program development, staff training, and performance evaluations.
• Collaborate with Marketing and program directors to advance enrollment and retention.
• Ensure compliance with ACA standards and state licensing.
