As a member of the Quality Assurance department at Lyons Magnus, an international food and beverage manufacturer headquartered in Fresno, California. The Day After QA Technician is responsible for support in the areas of quality assurance and related activities in a manner that supports the operations of production of the organization at the Fresno, CA plant.
Pay Range: $20.00 - $21.50 /hr
Hours: 6:00a - 2:30p
Schedule: Monday – Friday
(Must be willing to work weekends)
Location: Fresno, CA

Core Responsibilities
- Supports the mission, values and vision of the company.
- Maintains the best interest of Lyons Magnus first and foremost.
- Work with employees of Lyons Magnus in a positive and constructive manner to maintain a professional relationship. Demonstrates courtesy, discretion, friendliness and diplomacy.
- Works within a team environment to share information and help others as needed.
- Analyze product chemistry using a refractometer, TA, Salt Machine, pH meter, and viscometer (Brookfield & Bostwick) on batching and day after samples. Perform calibration on equipment as needed or as stated in company SOP's.
- Make any necessary adjustments to batches prior to packaging to ensure the product meets specification.
- Conduct sensory evaluation on products also prior to packaging to maintain consistency between batches.
- Effective and timely communication to production of batch results and/or required batch additions to ensure down time is limited.
- Assistance in problem solving quality related issues to determine the root cause and establish preventative measures.
- Proper and timely documentation of results on all paperwork and use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, DAX for data entry.
- Maintain and champion good manufacturing practices, quality plans and HACCP regulations on all fronts.
- Assistance in product retention program and associated retesting and/or reworking of products that does not meet quality standards. Write Quality Alerts on all products found to be out of spec.
- Maintain all lab equipment and escalates when there are issues.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Analyze and record finished product samples per customer specifications.
- Send samples out per customer specifications and other special requests (Dunkin samples, GHIR samples, Dairy Customer special requests. Etc.)
- Review, test, record results for samples from the following production lines. (can, gallon line north & south, pet, cup, squeeze, 405, plant #6, etc.)
- Perform sensory evaluation on samples and/or programs deemed necessary by lab Management.
- Assistance in the administration of QA programs and fills in as needed in the absence of other lab areas of the Quality Assurance Department.
- Performs shelf-life extension and updates all supporting documents.
- Provides COA to warehouse as needed.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge and application of Food and Beverage Manufacturing
- Computer skills
- Bilingual - English/Spanish preferred but not mandatory
Education And/or Experience
- High School Education or GED.
- Understanding of lab testing, equipment, and good lab practices preferred.
