  • Oversee budgeting-related purchasing of retail and processing supplies.
  • Provide leadership for staffing, safety, operations, and fiscal management within budget.

Summary

Summary

Responsible for carrying out all retail and processing operations in the store, including, but not limited to, hiring and developing a qualified, culturally stable team; continual training and coaching for all staff; register and donation operations; customer service; store appearance and displays; efficiency of the processing department; and employee interactions, as outlined in the essential functions of the job and in compliance with company policies, procedures, and mission statement. The Store Manager holds ultimate responsibility for all store activities and outcomes, ensuring that every aspect of the store’s operation reflects the mission, culture, and standards of No Longer Bound. This includes oversight of all operational, personnel, and financial matters. The Store Manager is ultimately accountable for all financial transactions and fiscal integrity within the store, including the proper handling, reporting, and safeguarding of all cash and credit transactions.

Essential Functions
  • Lead and equip team specifically through an Assistant Manager of Processing and of Retail to run the retail, donations, and processing operations of the store, including the handling of both physical and monetary donations such as cash and credit card payments, checks, voids, and refunds, in order to ensure the accuracy and security of all transactions.
  • Ensure proper oversight of all financial procedures, including daily sales reconciliation, deposits, register audits, and compliance with internal controls. The Store Manager is responsible for ensuring that all funds, assets, and resources are handled with integrity and accuracy in accordance with No Longer Bound’s policies.
  • No Longer Bound Thrift Stores are an extension of our campus. The Store Manager is responsible for maintaining the core values of No Longer Bound. Knowing the mission, understanding the Program, and how to connect customers back to the overall ministry is a required part of being a leader in the Thrift Stores. Implementing the culture of No Longer Bound is essential. Our stores should be set apart by how employees interact with one another and the public.
  • Establish and maintain customer service standards in order to ensure compliance with the No Longer Bound Mission Statement and to provide a pleasant shopping experience for each customer.
  • Responsible for administrative tasks, such as new hire paperwork for employees, reviews, documentation, bill pay, scheduling, and labor hours.
  • Work with Assistant Retail Manager to maintain the physical appearance of the store, including, but not limited to, ordering and maintaining needed janitorial and restroom supplies, removing safety hazards, picking up store merchandise and restoring to proper place, cleaning parking lot, sidewalks, windows and doors, store floors, restrooms and other public areas, maintaining appropriate sized walkways to ensure the safety and health of customers and employees.
  • Work with and effectively communicate with the Assistant Manager of Processing, processing employees, and donors on a daily basis in order to keep a positive flow of information and foster unity among all involved.
  • Oversee the ordering of retail and processing supplies for proper store function according to the budget and needs of staff.
  • Provide leadership and accountability for all aspects of store performance, including staffing, safety, operational efficiency, and fiscal management. The Store Manager ensures that the store operates within budgetary guidelines and supports the overall financial health of the Thrift Ministry.
