• Perform tool changes and adjust controls to maintain tolerances.
• Maintain clean workspace and perform basic machine maintenance.
• Collaborate with Production Leader and Engineering to improve productivity.

Job description

About the Job: Operate Davenport multi-spindle screw machines equipped with automatic indexing and feeding mechanism to perform series of machining operations on metal bar stock.

Opportunities for growth : Training is provided to further the knowledge of the operator including the use of a variety of tool holders and attachments. Advanced training is also provided for troubleshooting and setting up a Davenport multi-spindle screw machine.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities :

• Operate assigned machine(s) by production foreman.
• Read blueprint and job order for such information as dimensions, tolerances and number of work pieces to be machined per hour.
• Verify conformance of machined parts to specifications using a variety of gauges including, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, comparators, ect.
• Perform tool changes as required.
• Adjust machine controls and changes tool settings to keep dimensions with specified tolerances.
• Clean machine, tooling and parts and removes chips from machine when necessary.
• Perform minor machine maintenance as required.
• Interact with Production Leader and Engineering staff to improve productivity and troubleshoot machining problems.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area utilizing 5S techniques and methods.

Minimum Experience : 3 years' operating Davenport multi-spindle screw machine with related factory experience.
