Berkley Screw Machine Products, Inc. is seeking skilled Davenport Machine Operators to ensure machine reliability and high-quality output. You will manage multi-spindle screw machines, read blueprints, and apply preventive maintenance to keep parts within spec.

Candidates should have 1-2 years of manufacturing experience, basic mechanical/electrical knowledge, and strong problem-solving abilities. Excellent teamwork and adherence to safety rules are essential.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Able to interpret blueprints and read machine instructions.
• Experience setting up and running multi-spindle screw machines.
• Mechanical and electrical knowledge is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Operate two or more spindle screw machines; extra pay for a third.
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems and perform preventive maintenance.
• Reset tooling and maintain part conformance.
• Use hand tools, micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
• Read safety rules, machine instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and ensure quality control standards.

Job description

We are looking for Skilled Davenport Machine Operators who are committed to Quality to join our team. As a Davenport Machine Operator, you will play a role in our production process, ensuring that our machines run smoothly and efficiently, and your attention to detail and technical experience will be helpful in maintaining high-quality standards.

Operate two or more multiple-spindle screw machines, and extra pay for a third machine.

Experience/knowledge in changing cams, grinding form tools, drills, cutoffs, and maintenance activities.

Troubleshoot and solve mechanical problems when they arise.

Perform preventative maintenance tasks and reset the machine tooling as needed to maintain part conformance.

Utilize hand tools, micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators so parts meet specifications.

Sharpen and adjust tools to maintain part conformity.

Position and secure tools in tool holders to match the tooling layout.

Read and understand documents such as safety rules, machine instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating machine instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ensure the machine performance meets quality control standards.

Maintain a clean and safe workspace.

Preferred to have at least 1-2 years' experience in manufacturing.

Able to interpret blueprints.

Experience setting up and running machines.

Mechanical and electrical knowledge is very helpful.

Experience in inspecting parts.

Quality-oriented.

Experience & Understanding of SPC.

Possess strong problem-solving capabilities.

Excellent communication skills and work well with others.

Positive work ethic with reliable attendance.

Physically capable of duties of the job, as it involves lifting of 40lbs or more.

Compensation

$21 - $30 hourly
