Job summary

Neuberger is seeking an Observability Engineer to own, scale, and evolve our Datadog platform across cloud and on-prem environments. You will design end-to-end observability solutions spanning logs, metrics, traces, and RUM to improve reliability and incident response.

This individual contributor role requires strong Datadog engineering, scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash), and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Hybrid work schedule is 2–3 days in the office.

Qualifications

• 5 years in Observability, APM, SRE, or Platform Engineering with 2–3 years of Datadog experience.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve Datadog platform across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Collaborate with application, DevOps, SRE, and security teams to implement monitoring strategies.
• Lead migration from OpenView to Datadog.
• Automate monitoring via Datadog APIs, Terraform, and scripting.
• Implement and optimize APM, logs, metrics, traces, and RUM.
• Develop end-user monitoring for external services and critical workflows.
• Define SLOs and manage alerting and noise reduction.
• Integrate Datadog with ServiceNow for incident routing and dashboards.
• Champion OpenTelemetry adoption and standardize instrumentation.
• Onboard new apps into Datadog and guide engineering teams.
