Job summary

IDC is seeking a Senior Research Analyst to support storage research within the Data and Storage Infrastructure subdomain. You will help develop market models, provide qualitative and quantitative insights to vendors and IT buyers, and contribute to reports on current trends and future growth.

The role requires a STEM degree, about five years of storage or IT infra experience, strong quantitative skills, and the ability to travel ~15% while working remotely near a major airport.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or related field.
• Around 5 years of direct end-user or vendor experience in enterprise data storage or IT infrastructure.
• Strong quantitative and/or modeling skills; database experience is a bonus.
• Travel ~15% required.

Responsibilities

• Support senior analysts in delivering qualitative and quantitative insights to vendors, IT buyers, and investors.
• Develop and maintain market models for storage segments (server-based, file-based, object-based).
• Deliver rich insights on industry trends and market adoption.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and device analysts to form a bigger picture of storage platforms, systems, and services.
• Contribute to reports on the current state and future growth of the industry.
