Job summary

Bytebridge Technologies Inc. is seeking an experienced Datacenter Field Operations Technician to support a hyperscale data center campus in New Albany, Ohio.

You will perform structured cabling, fiber optics installation, rack deployment, and physical-layer troubleshooting across day, swing, and night shifts. This hands-on role requires 5–12 years of relevant experience, BICSI and OSHA certifications preferred, and the ability to lift 50+ lbs while working onsite in a demanding data center

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–12 years in data center operations, cabling, or network hardware installation.
• Experience with copper and fiber cabling, splicing, termination, and testing.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems and asset management workflows.

Responsibilities

• Perform rack installation, rack-and-stack, cabling, turn-up, and decommissioning.
• Install/maintain copper and fiber cabling (Cat6A, OM4, OS2, MPO/MTP).
• Perform fiber testing with OTDR, optical power meters, VFL, loopback adapters.
• Troubleshoot physical-layer connectivity and fiber issues.
• Replace switches, line cards, transceivers, optics, and cables.
• Conduct QA/QC, fiber cleaning, continuity testing, and post-installation validation.
• Support network upgrades and document/update tickets.
• Follow safety, ESD, PPE, and LOTO procedures.

About the Role

We are looking for experienced Datacenter Field Operations Technicians to support a large-scale hyperscale data center campus in New Albany, Ohio. This is a hands-on role focused on structured cabling, fiber optics, rack deployment, network hardware installation, physical-layer troubleshooting, and break/fix operations.

• Perform rack installation, rack-and-stack, cabling, turn-up, and decommissioning.
• Install and maintain copper and fiber optic cabling, including Cat6A, OM4, OS2, and MPO/MTP.
• Perform fiber testing using OTDR, optical power meters, VFL, and loopback adapters.
• Troubleshoot physical-layer connectivity issues, including fiber breaks, connector failures, and low light levels.
• Replace faulty switches, line cards, transceivers, optics, and network cables.
• Execute circuit QA/QC, fiber cleaning, continuity testing, and post-installation validation.
• Perform preventive maintenance and support network infrastructure upgrades.
• Maintain accurate documentation and update tickets.
• Follow all safety, ESD, PPE, and Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures.
• 5–12 years of experience in data center operations, structured cabling, telecommunications, or network hardware installation.
• Strong hands-on experience with copper and fiber optic cabling.
• Experience with fiber splicing, termination, connector cleaning, inspection, and testing.
• Hands-on experience with rack-and-stack and network hardware installation.
• Proficiency with OTDR, optical power meters, VFL, and loopback testing.
• Experience troubleshooting physical-layer network connectivity issues.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems and asset management workflows.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work onsite in a physically demanding data center environment.
• Hyperscale data center experience and large-scale rack deployments.
• BICSI certification or equivalent.
• OSHA 10/30 certification.
• Familiarity with liquid-cooled rack systems and AALC.
• Experience with DCIM tools, barcode scanning, and asset tracking.
• Day: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM ET
• Swing: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM ET
• Night: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM ET

Five days on / two days off. Rotational shifts and on-call support may be required. Shift differentials may apply to evening and overnight shifts.

Important: Strictly W2 engagement. USC/GC candidates preferred.
