Job summary

Deloitte's Core AI & Data practice is seeking a Data Engineer II to design, build, and optimize cloud-based data pipelines using Databricks, Spark, Python, and SQL. You will modernize data platforms, support AI use cases, and deliver measurable business outcomes across client engagements.

The role requires 3+ years in data engineering, 2+ years with Databricks, and experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP). Travel up to 50% is expected in some projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/Engineering/IS/Data Science/Math/Statistics.
• 3+ years of data engineering or data platform experience including ETL.
• 2+ years building data pipelines in Databricks with Spark, Python, and SQL.
• Experience with data models, integration patterns, and cloud data processing workflows.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Willingness to travel ~50% as needed.
• Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and data engineering solutions using Databricks, Apache Spark, Python, and SQL.
• Modernize enterprise data platforms with cloud-based ingestion, transformation, and storage patterns.
• Develop batch and streaming workflows for reporting, analytics, and AI use cases.
• Apply data architecture, integration, and data modeling to improve data quality and performance.
• Collaborate with client and Deloitte teams to troubleshoot issues and support large-scale data transformations.
