Job summary

Everforth Apex in Washington, DC seeks a Data Management Specialist to support data infrastructure management, cloud services, database administration, and reporting.

You will work hands-on with Azure, SQL Server, Power BI, Tomcat, R Studio, and Databricks to build scalable ETL pipelines and analytics. The role emphasizes independent and collaborative work, governance, and ongoing development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• 3+ years in data management with hands-on Azure, SQL Server, Power BI, Tomcat, R Studio and Databricks.
• Proficiency in Azure Administration (Azure SQL Database, Blob Storage, Data Lake).
• Strong SQL Server DBA skills: performance tuning, backups, restores.
• Experience with Apache Tomcat deployments and integration.
• Power BI for reporting and visualization.
• R Studio for data analysis and modeling.
• Basic experience with Azure Databricks for data engineering.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Azure resources (Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Data Lake).
• Configure Azure-based data storage, security, and access control.
• Create automation scripts for resource provisioning with Azure CLI and PowerShell.
• Monitor and optimize SQL Server instances for reliability.
• Perform backups/restores and ensure data integrity.
• Assist migrations and upgrades of SQL Server to cloud platforms.
• Deploy and maintain applications using Apache Tomcat.
• Develop Databricks pipelines for data transformation.
• Build scalable ETL processes using Azure Databricks.
• Create and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Use R Studio for data analysis and modeling.
• Document processes, workflows, and configurations.
