Job summary

Ladders seeks a Database Engineer - Oracle & Cloud Platforms for a leader in the Business Services space. The role focuses on administering production Oracle databases and supporting cloud‑based database operations across hybrid and managed‑service platforms.

You will partner with infrastructure and application teams to improve performance, strengthen security, and advance modernization efforts. Remote US‑based candidates only; visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in database administration or engineering.
• 6+ years of experience in database administration or related roles.
• Hands-on Oracle database production experience.
• Experience with cloud or hybrid-cloud database environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain production Oracle databases, ensuring performance and security.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for complex database incidents.
• Support database workloads on cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and other managed-service environments.
• Participate in database modernization and cloud adoption initiatives.
• Design and implement automation solutions using scripting and Infrastructure-as-Code technologies.
• Troubleshoot issues across database, infrastructure, and application domains.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.

For our client, we are seeking a Database Engineer - Oracle & Cloud Platforms to join the team of a leader in the Business Services space.

This role will focus on administering and optimizing production Oracle database environments while supporting broader cloud-based database operations. You will partner with infrastructure and application teams to improve performance, strengthen security, and help advance modernization efforts across hybrid and managed-service platforms. The position also requires strong troubleshooting skills, disciplined documentation, and the ability to contribute to automation and Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives in a regulated environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $106,000 – $176,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain production Oracle databases, ensuring performance and security
• Serve as a senior escalation point for complex database incidents
• Support database workloads on cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and other managed-service environments
• Participate in database modernization and cloud adoption initiatives
• Design and implement automation solutions using scripting and Infrastructure-as-Code technologies

• 6+ years of experience in database administration or related technical roles
• Hands‑on experience with Oracle database environments in production settings
• Proficiency in performance monitoring, tuning, and lifecycle management of Oracle databases
• Experience with cloud, managed‑service, or hybrid‑cloud database environments
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with effective communication and documentation abilities
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
