Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Database Engineer to provide subject matter proficiency for the USAF mission, delivering analytical support for process improvement, requirements development, and data modeling.

The role requires active TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly eligibility, at least 10 years in database development, design, requirements analysis, and architectures, plus 5 years with Enterprise DB and 7 years with PostgreSQL. Some travel 10–20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain a CI Poly.
• Minimum 10 years of overall experience in the functional area.
• 10 years combined experience in database development, design, requirements analysis, and architectures.
• 5 years’ experience working with Enterprise DB.
• 7 years of experience with PostgreSQL.
• Bachelor's degree required (Master's may substitute for 2 years).
• Certified experience in advanced DCWF Job Code: 421 is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain database solutions in a multi‑tiered environment.
• Plan, analyze, and define requirements for systems and software architectures.
• Travel 10–20% to sites as needed.

Job description

The Database Engineer provides subject matter proficiency for our USAF mission. Typical duties include analysis, planning, developing requirements documents, building functional models, developing procedures, developing functional architectures, and other related management and technical duties.

This position is remote a requires an active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a CI Poly.

Job-Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a CI Poly.

• 10 years of combined experience in: (a) Database development and software engineering/development; (b) Database Design and Data Modeling; (c) Requirements analysis/generation; (d) Developing systems and software architectures.
• Must have 5 years' experience working with Enterprise DB.
• 7 years of experience with PostgreSQL.
• Required Certification: DCWF Job Code: 421 Advanced
• Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining automated installation scripts.
• Demonstrated experience developing database solutions in a multi-tiered environment.
• Role may require travel to a site 10-20% of the time.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Oracle DBA Certified Professional, CISSP
