Job summary

Maximus seeks a Database Engineer to provide subject matter proficiency for our USAF mission. The role involves analysis, requirements development, functional modeling, and architecture design to support process improvement and specialized studies.

The position requires active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a CI Poly, extensive experience with PostgreSQL, and a strong background in database development and data modeling.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required with ability to obtain a CI Poly.
• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s may substitute for 2 years of experience.
• 10+ years of overall experience in database development, software engineering, and requirements analysis.
• 5+ years' experience with Enterprise DB; 7 years with PostgreSQL.
• Experience developing automated installation scripts and multi-tiered database solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical support for USAF mission and process improvement.
• Develop requirements documents, functional models, and procedures.
• Design and develop database solutions in a multi-tiered environment.
• Participate in architecture development and data modeling efforts.
• Travel to sites 10-20% of the time as required.

Job description

The Database Engineer provides subject matter proficiency for our USAF mission. This role is responsible for providing analytical skills to support process improvement, specialized studies, and definition of requirements. Typical duties include analysis, planning, developing requirements documents, building functional models, developing procedures, developing functional architectures, and other related management and technical duties.

This position is remote a requires an active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a CI Poly.

Job-Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a CI Poly.
• At least 10 years of overall experience in the functional area. Bachelor's degree required (Master's may substitute for 2 years).
• 10 years of combined experience in: (a) Database development and software engineering/development; (b) Database Design and Data Modeling; (c) Requirements analysis/generation; (d) Developing systems and software architectures.
• Must have 5 years' experience working with Enterprise DB.
• 7 years of experience with PostgreSQL.
• Required Certification: DCWF Job Code: 421 Advanced
• Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining automated installation scripts.
• Demonstrated experience developing database solutions in a multi-tiered environment.
• Role may require travel to a site 10-20% of the time.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Oracle DBA Certified Professional, CISSP
