Jobtailor is seeking a Database Developer to build and maintain queries, stored procedures, and views for a federal agency's enterprise data platform in Washington, DC. The role requires 4+ years of database development experience, a Bachelor's degree, and US citizenship with the ability to obtain a Public Trust determination.

You will work with Amazon Aurora (PostgreSQL-compatible), DynamoDB, S3, and Apache Iceberg tables to turn raw data into usable data, perform query tuning, and manage data

  • Willingness to commute to Washington, DC.

Requirements
  • 4+ years of database development experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • SQL on Amazon Aurora (PostgreSQL-compatible), working with DynamoDB, S3, and Apache Iceberg tables
  • Stored procedures, views, and query tuning
  • Data loading (S3 into the platform stores) and ODBC/JDBC connectivity
  • Basic proficiency in writing, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Sole United States citizenship
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust determination
  • Ability to commute into Washington, DC regularly
  • Preferred: Physical-design ownership of the Aurora and Iceberg stores, or the drive to grow into it
  • Preferred: Apache Ranger-governed access
  • Preferred: Federal information technology or high-volume transaction experience
  • Preferred: Familiarity with AI-assisted developer tooling
