Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking an Oracle DBA for a part-time, on-site role at the Catonsville campus. The position focuses on ongoing support and maintenance for enterprise systems and databases, including patching, tuning, and routine administration.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree with two years of programming related experience; a Master's degree is preferred. There is no remote work option for this in-person role at CCBC.

Responsibilities

  • Design, program, test, implement, and document modifications to existing systems in order to enhance processing efficiencies or the required change.
  • Investigate and resolve application system problems reported by system users.
  • Analyze and develop system specifications and procedures for modifications to existing computer systems (developed in-house or third party packages), in support of user requests.
  • Apply updates to third-party software products.
  • Identify, evaluate, recommend, and implement new products and technologies.

Class Description

The purpose of this class is to provide on-going support andmaintenance for enterprise systems and databases. This classperforms database software development, system and databasepatching, and database administrative duties.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree and two years of programming relatedexperience.

Master's degree preferred.

Class Specific Essential Duties

Adjunct Faculty, PartTime Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save forretirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees maycontribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b)post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combinedfor the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
    • Deferred Compensation Plan — 457(b) offered through VOYAFinancial Advisors, Inc. The 457(b) salary reduction authorizationform is needed. The form is available on SharePoint Forms/HumanResources Forms.
