Job summary

TMC Technologies is seeking a Database Administrator focused on Oracle and PostgreSQL to support a federal client in Washington, DC. The role requires US citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance to start due to contract requirements.

You will administer, patch, and upgrade Oracle and Postgres databases, perform performance tuning, and resolve issues to ensure secure, reliable data services for applications and developers.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship and active Top Secret clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree and minimum of 5 years of DBA experience.
• Experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
• Experience with AWS/RDS/S3/DMS.
• Experience with patching/upgrading Oracle/PostgreSQL databases.
• Experience conducting performance tuning on Oracle/PostgreSQL databases.
• Experience back-up and recovery tools like RMAN/Flashback.

• Administer Oracle and Postgres databases
• Debug Oracle and Postgres databases
• Patch and upgrade Oracle and Postgres databases
• Conduct performance tuning on Oracle and Postgres databases
• Resolve issues with Oracle and Postgres databases

Job Requirements

• US Citizenship and active Top Secret clearance required
• Bachelor's degree and minimum of 5 years of DBA experience required
• Experience administering Oracle or Postgres databases (ideally both)
• Experience with AWS/RDS/S3/DMS
• Experience working with and debugging Oracle/Postgres databases
• Experience with Oracle/Postgres database patching and upgrades
• Experience conducting performance tuning on Oracle/Postgres databases
• Experience with Oracle/Postgres database backup/recovery tools and techniques, such as Oracle RMAN and Flashback
• Experience with restoring Oracle/Postgres databases
• Experience configuring Oracle/Postgres databases to meet federal security guidelines
• Experience identifying and resolving performance or availability issues in databases
• Experience providing guidance and support to application developers in the creation and deployment of DML or DDL scripts in support of application maintenance or deployment
