Job summary

Nityo Infotech seeks an experienced Database Administrator to manage enterprise databases in Richardson, TX. The role requires hands-on administration, production support, and collaboration with application and infrastructure teams to ensure high availability and optimal performance.

Candidates should be proficient with DB2, Sybase ASE, or MongoDB, and capable of handling backup/recovery, tuning, upgrades, and migrations in a fast-paced production environment.

• Support database upgrades, migrations, patching, and configuration changes.
• Participate in database/data center migration projects.
• Work closely with application, infrastructure, and support teams to ensure database availability and stability.

Required Skill and Experience

• Database Administrator with hands-on experience in enterprise database administration and production support.
• Must have experience/exposure with any two technologies: DB2, or Sybase ASE, or Mongo DB.
• Provide L2/L3 database administration and production support.
• Administer, monitor, and maintain DB2, Sybase ASE, and/or Mongo DB environments.
• Perform database administration tasks including backup/recovery, monitoring, health checks, and user management.
• Troubleshoot database issues and perform performance analysis and tuning.
• Support database upgrades, migrations, patching, and configuration changes.
• Participate in database/data center migration projects.
• Work closely with application, infrastructure, and support teams to ensure database availability and stability.

Preferred Skill and Experience

• Working Knowledge in at least one of: DB2, Sybase ASE, MongoDB.
• Good understanding of:
• Database administration and support
• Troubleshooting and performance analysis
• SQL and database architecture
• Database upgrades and migrations
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently in a production support environment.
• Experience with two of the following: DB2, Sybase ASE, MongoDB.
• Experience supporting database/data center migrations.
• Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting.
