Confidential Jobs in Austin, TX seeks an experienced Database Administrator with data warehousing expertise. You will design, implement, and maintain enterprise databases, data warehouses, and data marts.
You will model data using Star and Snowflake schemas, write complex SQL, and tune performance. You will also manage backup/DR, security procedures, and data governance, while supporting ETL processes with Informatica or DataStage and BI tools like Power BI, Business Objects, Cognos, Hyperion,
Location: Austin, TX — Hybrid: 3 days onsite (Wed/Thu/Fri), 2 days remote
Design, develop, implement, maintain, and administer enterprise database systems.
Develop and maintain data warehouses and data marts.
Perform logical and physical data modeling, including Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, and normalized data models.
Develop database structures, tables, views, stored procedures, queries, and related database objects.
Perform SQL development, optimization, and performance tuning.
Monitor database performance, memory utilization, storage, and system resources.
Conduct database benchmarking and threshold testing.
Implement database backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and security procedures.
Support database installations, upgrades, migrations, and reorganizations.
Ensure data integrity, minimize redundancy, and maintain consistent data definitions.
Maintain and enhance the data dictionary.
Work with developers, analysts, and business users to determine the impact of database changes.
Use GUI-based ETL tools such as Informatica, IBM WebSphere DataStage, or similar technologies.
Support data extraction, transformation, loading, and data population processes.
Work with analytical and reporting platforms such as Business Objects, Cognos, Hyperion, MicroStrategy, or Power BI.
Translate business requirements into logical and physical database designs.
Provide technical assistance to application development and data/reporting teams.
Support database security standards and disaster recovery procedures.
Create and maintain test database environments.
Troubleshoot database and application-related data issues.
Provide support to technical and non-technical users.
Ensure database administration interfaces and data input/output/reporting solutions meet applicable EIR accessibility standards.
Work effectively with multiple technical and business teams.
