Job summary

Saddle Creek Logistics Services is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to join the IS Data Management team in Lincoln. The DBA will diagnose performance issues, manage data access, and guide database development and testing within a collaborative IS environment.

The role reports to the Director of Data Governance and involves working with analysts, application owners, and vendors to ensure data security and high performance across systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
• Strong understanding of data governance and security.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose application, system, and workload performance issues.
• Manage data access and authority, ensure data security.
• Plan and review database development and testing for performance and volume.
• Coordinate with vendors and report progress to leadership.

Position Overview

The Database Administrator (DBA) operates within the IS Data Management team, reporting to the Director of Data Governance. The DBA will serve as a guide for system analysts, application owners, and data stewards on the IS team. Day to day activities include working with the Data Management and other IS teams and analysts to diagnose application, system, and workload performance issues, user data access, managing data authority and access, plan and review new/changing/existing database development, performance and volume testing, working with vendors, and reporting progress.
