Job summary

Saddle Creek Logistics Services in Joliet, IL seeks a proven leader to manage a team of hourly associates in a fast-paced warehouse. You will support client needs, drive productivity, uphold safety, and control costs while delivering exceptional service. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in a leadership role, strong communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to solve problems under pressure. A High School Diploma is required; a Bachelor’s degree and Lean Six Sigma training are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed corporate safety goals.
  • Communicate goals, expectations, and improvements to the team.
  • Coach, train and develop associates for growth.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews.

SALARY LEVEL
  • $65,000-$77,000 salary is commensurate to experience and location

Shift

Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Flexible work hours are required based on operational needs.

What you will do:
  • Manage and lead a team of hourly associates in a fast-paced warehouse team environment
  • Assist our wide range of clients with the needs and demands of their supply chains
  • Ensure acceptable levels of performance in assigned business unit by meeting or exceeding productivity standards and cost control management
  • Ensure exceptional customer service by meeting key performance indicators (order fill rate accuracy, unannounced inspections, inventory accuracy, etc.) for assigned area of responsibility
  • Achieve performance goals through KPI monitoring, promote LEAN principles, and process improvement
  • Lead and maintain a clean, professional, and safe work environment
  • Meet or exceed SCLS corporate safety goals
  • Effectively communicate goals, expectations, areas for improvement, and successes to associates
  • Coach, train, and mentor associates allowing them the opportunity to grow and develop
  • Conduct annual performance reviews

  • 2+ years of previous experience in a leadership role with a track record of implementing and managing change
  • Listening skills and strong abilities to collaborate, communicate and motivate others to accomplish goals
  • Demonstrated success in problem-solving and decision-making to overcome obstacles and maximize opportunities
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment while focusing on exceeding operational goals
  • Strong organization and multi-tasking skills, agility, and ability to be cross-trained to do more where needed
  • High School Diploma/GED Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement training and experience
  • Supply chain/logistics experience is a plus but not required
  • Technical savvy (intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job-specific software applications)
