Job summary

BranCore Technologies in Richmond, VA seeks an experienced Oracle DBA contractor to administer, maintain and optimize the ERP database. You will implement data models and perform backups, tuning and security measures as part of a multi-year project.

The role is 20 hours per week, 8 months with possible extension. On-site orientation is required; after start, work largely remote with occasional office visits as needed.

Qualifications

• 7 to 10 years of experience in the field.
• Expertise with Oracle 19c/26ai databases and OCI.
• Experience migrating Oracle databases to OCI and on-premise Oracle support.
• Proficient with RMAN backups, Data Pump, and Oracle RAC/ASM on Linux.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Computer Science.

Responsibilities

• Administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the ERP database.
• Implements data models, database designs, data access and table maintenance codes; resolves performance and capacity issues.
• May require a bachelor’s degree and reports to a manager while using extensive experience to plan and accomplish goals.
• Lead data security, patching, documentation and recovery activities.

Contract Length: 8 months with the possibility of extending based on project need.

Candidate needs to be within driving distance of Richmond, Va. They will need to come in initially to pick up equipment and receive an orientation. Thereafter it will largely be remote, but there will be sometimes they will need to come into the office.

This role is 20 hours a week and is part time.

Administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) database. Implements data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes; resolves ERP database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues. May require a bachelor’s degree. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
