Grant Thornton seeks an Associate, Data Transformation & Governance to support governance and transformation readiness across both structured and unstructured data. You will partner with data governance leads, stewards, and security stakeholders to ensure compliant data migration and analytics enablement.

The role requires 2+ years in data governance or related fields, with a focus on inventory, retention, and regulatory compliance across acquired-company data.

Qualificações

• 2+ years of experience in data governance, data management, data quality, data integration, analytics, privacy and compliance, or related roles.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain data governance documentation supporting acquired-company integration, including standards, ownership, and stewardship trackers.
• Support data migration, integration, archival, reporting, and analytics enablement workstreams.
• Build out the data estate inventory for acquisitions, capturing structured data and unstructured content.
• Record content attributes like category, sensitivity, ownership, and business purpose.
• Prepare summaries of content categories for migration planning.
• Assist with reviewing unstructured data for regulated or confidential material and document findings.
• Maintain ownership records for data domains and track unassigned owners.
• Maintain approval records for data use and external sharing to ensure traceability.
• Flag unowned or unapproved data and route for review.
• Apply retention categories to acquired data and escalate unclear items.
• Support disposal activities with schedules and approvals.
• Check legal holds before disposal and maintain hold records through release.
• Document retention exceptions and extensions as needed.
• Capture retention determinations and reflect in governance docs.
• Record jurisdictional differences and privacy requirements for entities.
• Support data quality and standardization with profiling and remediation.
• Maintain data definitions, metadata, and lineage notes for data domains.
• Maintain catalog and glossary entries for assigned scope.
• Coordinate governance activities with owners, stewards, and stakeholders.
• Assist with governance tools like catalog, metadata, lineage, quality, and MDM.
