Job summary

KoBold Metals DRC is hiring Software Engineers to accelerate mineral exploration through AI-powered data systems. You will embed with geologists and data scientists, building pipelines and tools to make exploration data broadly accessible to humans and machines.

Our stack centers on Python, Django, React, AWS, with Retool and Prefect. You’ll drive end-to-end projects, sometimes joining field teams to experience impact in real time, and contribute to groundbreaking energy-transition metals

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience, ideally building production cloud data systems.
• Proficiency with Python.
• Ability to write production-quality code that is correct, readable, well-tested, scalable and extensible.
• Skilled in large-scale system design.
• Experience taking ownership from problem definition to delivery with impact.

Responsibilities

• Deep engagement with exploration geologists and data scientists, tailoring tech to the needs of project scientists.
• Building data pipelines and tooling for deriving insights from exploration data, often leading a small group of engineers.
• Developing expertise in KoBold’s Data Systems and understanding their impact on exploration.
• End-to-end ownership of projects from design to implementation and testing, with ongoing engagement.
• Responding to design and code feedback, and providing feedback to teammates.
• Operationally managing the team’s services and assisting scientific colleagues with tooling.
