Job summary

Beaufort County seeks a senior data systems professional to design, develop, and optimize data systems, databases, and workflow automation for the Treasurer's Office. You will ensure data integrity, performance, and accessibility while delivering reporting solutions and BI capabilities.

The role emphasizes scalable data management, ETL processes, and dashboards to support financial reporting, FOIA requests, and decision-making in a public-sector environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field; or eight (8) years of equivalent experience.
• At least five (5) years of experience in database development, ETL processes, or data engineering with advanced knowledge of SQL, database management, business intelligence, automation, and related technologies.

Responsibilities

• Directs the development and maintenance of operational and strategic reports.
• Oversees the design and implementation of dashboards, data visualizations, and performance metrics.
• Ensures the accuracy, integrity, and security of data across financial systems and reporting platforms.
• Establishes and maintains scalable data management processes and reporting standards.
• Manages FOIA requests related to departmental data.
• Develops and maintains data governance policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Monitors reporting workflows to ensure timely, accurate, and reliable information for decision-making.
