Job summary

PBS is seeking a Sr. Director, Data Strategy & Operations in Arlington, VA to lead the data function within the Business Intelligence Group.

You will own data collection, governance, and delivery of audience and content performance data, directing Nielsen operations, GA4 implementation, and the Domo platform to ensure accurate, consistent insights for stakeholders. The role reports to the VP, Business Intelligence and requires 10+ years in data strategy with 5+ years of leadership, plus

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data strategy, data operations, or analytics engineering in a complex org.
• 5+ years leading technical or operations teams.
• Experience owning a BI platform (Domo/Tableau/Power BI) and data models with strong SQL.
• Hands-on digital analytics implementation and media measurement data experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the data strategy and roadmap for Business Intelligence, setting priorities for collection and delivery.
• Establish and maintain governance framework for metrics, data lineage, and quality.
• Ensure data collection meets privacy obligations including children’s data.
• Represent BI in enterprise data initiatives with PBS tech teams.
• Serve as PBS internal authority on measurement systems from Nielsen to next-gen tools.
• Direct Google Analytics implementation across PBS.org and PBSKIDS.org and apps.
• Own Domo platform and analytics data models, partnering with tech teams.
• Manage relationships with Nielsen, Comscore, Google, and Domo.
• Lead development of data products and dashboards for internal stakeholders.
• Drive adoption through engagement, training, and documentation.
• Partner with Audience Insights & Analytics to support analyses.
