Job description

Genesis Capital (the “Company”) is one of the largest business purpose lenders in the country, focused on providing commercial real estate financing solutions to real estate developers who buy, renovate, and sell single-family and/or multi-family residential real estate. The Company is a subsidiary of Rithm Capital (parent company), a publicly traded mortgage real estate investment trust.

The Data Strategy Analyst is responsible for the quality, completeness, and integrity of the market and prospect data that drives the Company’s sales pipeline. The role identifies and profiles prospective borrowers, verifies the information behind them, and maintains that information as a dependable asset across the systems the sales, reporting, and credit functions rely on. Positioned within the Strategy & Analytics vertical, the analyst works closely with Business Intelligence and Sales Management on the team’s data priorities and serves as a research resource to the wider commercial organization.

Primary discovery research is performed by an offshore research while this position defines what gets researched, sets the standard the output is held to, resolves the judgment calls the process cannot, and answers for the integrity of the data once it enters the firm’s systems.

Principal Duties:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Market Coverage and Prospect Identification

  • Translate commercial priorities agreed with sales and business development leadership into research criteria, helping select the markets, lender relationships, and product segments where the firm has the most to gain
  • Directly manage and quality-review the work of the offshore research team, setting the standard for what constitutes a valid, usable prospect and returning work that does not meet it
  • Maintain a current view of addressable market coverage and competitor activity, and identify where the prospect pool is thin relative to the sales organization’s capacity

Data Integrity and Entity Governance

  • Own the accuracy of prospect and borrower records across the firm’s sales, reporting, and lending platforms so that each entity is represented consistently wherever it appears
  • Adjudicate the entity-resolution questions automated processes cannot settle, including which records belong to the same principal or company, which should be separated, and which do not belong in the pipeline at all
  • Review algorithm-driven changes to entity relationships, correct or reverse errors, and preserve a documented audit trail
  • Keep the active prospect pool current by retiring records that no longer reflect market activity and resolving duplicates created through separate intake channels

Commercial and Cross-Functional Support

  • Serve as the research resource for the sales, client acquisition, business development, and marketing teams, meeting agreed turnaround expectations and escalating requests at risk of slipping
  • Provide the prospect intelligence that shapes how the firm approaches an opportunity, including portfolio size, investment behavior, and likely product fit
  • Support conference and event preparation with attendee research and the prospect intelligence behind the campaigns built around them

Reporting and Continuous Improvement

  • Produce recurring production and pipeline reporting consistent with the firm’s standard definitions so that outputs reconcile to Business Intelligence
  • Partner with Business Intelligence on data integrity issues, escalade system and application defects, and propose changes to interdepartmental processes
  • Identify opportunities to shorten or automate the research and validation cycle, and support the design and testing of those changes.
  • Ability to effectively and accurately convey information to others.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, analytics, or quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience required.
  • One to four (4) years of professional experience, internship experience, or relevant coursework in market research, data validation, or analytics.
  • Exposure to real estate, financial services, or technology is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, with strong Excel skills and comfort working across large data sets.
  • Familiarity with a customer relationship management platform, business intelligence tools, or SQL is an advantage. Training is provided on the firm’s internal and specialized third-party systems.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to summarize research findings for sales and executive audiences.
  • Strong time management, with the ability to hold multiple competing priorities against recurring deadlines.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail, with the patience for high-volume work in which accuracy is the product.
  • Investigative curiosity and the persistence to trace an entity through several sources before reaching a conclusion.
  • Sound judgment about when a record falls outside documented procedure, and the instinct to elevate rather than assume.
  • Comfort working with distributed and vendor teams across time zones.
  • Ability to interface with senior stakeholders and to take initiative with a clear business purpose in mind.
  • High level of accountability and a dedication to producing work that is easily consumable by executives and managers.
  • Worked in real estate and / or lending or a related field preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Deadline oriented with strong analytical and presentation skills.
  • Ability to take initiative with a clear business purpose in mind.
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player.
