Job summary

Cardinal Health is hiring a Data Scientist, Operations Research Analyst to join the DS2 team. You will apply quantitative methods to improve the pharmaceutical supply chain and service to customers.

You will forecast demand, build optimization and simulation models, and communicate actionable insights to drive capacity and efficiency improvements across distribution, warehouses, and transportation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent work experience.
• MS/MBA with focus in Data Science, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or Statistics preferred.
• Experience applying Data Science and OR to logistics and supply chain problems preferred.
• Experience with SQL and databases preferred.
• Experience with data analysis tools such as R, Python, SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, and SAS preferred.
• Experience with Network Design, Simulation or Mathematical Programming software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Listen to clients and define business problems clearly.
• Perform exploratory analysis to identify root causes and confirm hypotheses.
• Develop predictive models to forecast future volumes and capacity needs.
• Develop customer and product segmentation models for differentiated services.
• Build optimization and simulation models to improve capacity, resources, and processes.
• Develop prescriptive models using 3rd party optimization/simulation software and custom-built models.
• Summarize financial and operational impact of recommendations for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers to create data models for analyses.
