Northwestern University's Alumni Relations & Development is seeking a Data Scientist to enable data-driven fundraising and engagement strategies. The role focuses on advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and data engineering to deliver scalable solutions within the advancement ecosystem.

The candidate will translate stakeholder questions into scalable models and insights, partnering with fundraising and operations teams.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, CS, or related field.
• 3-5 years of data science, analytics, or quantitative roles.
• Strong SQL (Oracle preferred) and Python for modeling and data manipulation.
• Experience deploying predictive models in production.
• Experience with Tableau and Cognos for reporting.
• Ability to translate complex analysis into actionable business insights.
• Experience in fundraising, nonprofit, or higher education analytics.

Aufgaben

• Develop and deploy predictive models to support fundraising, campaigns, and operations.
• Partner with senior leadership and teams to identify opportunities where data science can drive impact.
• Design and implement data pipelines and feature engineering for model development and operationalization.
• Translate complex analytical outputs into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with reporting and IT teams to integrate model outputs into CRM, dashboards, and workflows.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across analytical work.
• Monitor model performance and refine approaches with new data and evolving needs.
• Contribute to a scalable analytics ecosystem within the organization.
