Job summary

TransUnion is seeking a Data Science and Analytics professional to support model risk governance and validation. The role involves creating policies, maintaining documentation, and working with Legal and Compliance to standardize templates and language.

You will design analyses on large datasets using R, Python, SQL, Hive, and Spark, and contribute to client engagements and research for credit risk management solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, applied mathematics, financial mathematics, engineering, operations research, or another highly quantitative field.
• At least four years of professional analytical experience within financial services, consumer credit, or a related industry.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the creation and maintenance of model risk management policies, procedures, standards, and guidance.
• Collect, review, organize, and maintain model documentation for independent validation.
• Respond to model documentation requests from clients, regulators, and internal auditors while protecting intellectual property.
• Partner with model developers, Legal, Compliance, and stakeholders to streamline governance processes.
• Maintain the enterprise model inventory and implement governance improvements.
• Develop and manage the annual model validation plan and track activities.
• Create and present model risk management training materials for stakeholders.
• Design and write programs for data extraction, segmentation, and statistical analysis using R, Python, SQL, Hive, and Spark.
