Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a skilled data engineer to join a cross-functional team in Worcester, MA, focusing on preparing data for product development and Manufacturing Sciences. The role emphasizes building data from source systems and data lakes to enable modeling in a Lab-in-the-Loop environment.

You will partner with modeling SMEs and the Digital organization to deliver end-to-end data pipelines, products, and models, driving automation and end-to-end data flows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education; typically 10 years experience, Master’s 8 years; PhD optional.
• Thorough theoretical and practical understanding of biomedical data science and modeling.
• Prior experience in biotech or pharmaceutical environments.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to compile, clean and feature engineer lab and commercial data for multivariate/hybrid models.
• Deliver end-to-end data pipelines and models from proofs of concept.
• Demonstrate scientific initiative in R&D activities and method development.
• Work autonomously on laboratory research, requiring minimal supervision.
• Contribute to publications, regulatory documents, or patents.
• Maintain high proficiency across relevant technologies and maintain GxP compliance.
