Job summary

AbbVie in Worcester is seeking an Associate Director of Data and Digital Strategy to lead digital transformation for Biologics. You will design and execute a comprehensive data strategy, integrating ELN, sample management, and laboratory automation to accelerate biologics development.

You will shape AI/ML strategy, govern data and workflows, and partner across IT, Quality, and R&D to deliver measurable impact and KPIs, aligning with PDS&T Biologics priorities.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in life sciences or science-based informatics.
• 10+ years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry experience.
• 8+ years in a relevant R&D or Operations function.
• Proven track record enabling new digital or data management capabilities.
• Familiarity with AI/ML platforms and tools relevant to biologics CMC workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead laboratory digital transformation across PDS&T Biologics Development.
• Drive integration of laboratory instruments and systems to automate data capture and reduce manual data entry.
• Serve as the digital product leader for ELN, sample management, laboratory automation, and data platforms.
• Advance FAIR data principles and data standardization for analytics and modeling.
• Own ongoing evolution of laboratory digital products, configurations, UX, scalability, and adoption.
• Collaborate with scientists and operations to streamline workflows and improve data quality.
