Job summary

The Vanguard Group in Malvern, PA invites applications for a 10-week, paid Data Scientist Internship under the College to Corporate program. Enrolled master’s or PhD students will apply advanced analytics, ML, and AI to real business problems with mentorship and structured development.

Responsibilities include data prep, model development, and presenting insights to stakeholders, while developing leadership and teamwork skills in a collaborative, learning-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a master’s degree or PhD program in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Analytics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, CS.
• Strong interest in analytics, ML, AI, and data-driven business decisions.
• Experience via coursework, research, internships, or projects using SQL, Python, ML libraries, or cloud analytics tools.

Responsibilities

• Support analytics work to identify patterns, predict outcomes, and improve decision-making at scale.
• Prepare, transform, and analyze data for ML, statistics, and AI-driven solutions.
• Contribute to model development, testing, validation, or experimentation with data scientists and business stakeholders.
• Communicate analytical findings and recommendations to support business action.
• Gain exposure to applied AI, automation, model deployment, and insight generation.
• Develop leadership by taking ownership and collaborating across teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Build relationships with program managers, alumni, senior leaders, and peers.
