Job summary

Snap Finance is seeking a Data Scientist III to apply statistics, ML, and data-driven methods to support Sales and B2B marketing. This hybrid role is based in Salt Lake City, UT, with relocation eligibility within 90 days.

You will partner with cross‑functional teams to translate business questions into actionable analytics and predictive models. The ideal candidate brings strong SQL, Python or R, and experience taking data science projects from development to production, in a consumer finance

Qualifications

• Ability to generate robust statistical analyses (power analysis, hypothesis testing, experimental design, hierarchical modeling, Bayesian and frequentist methods).
• 3-5 years working in a data science position or equivalent.
• MS in quantitative fields such as Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or related.
• BS in the fields described above will be considered if the skill set and experience are robust.
• Strong SQL skills and the ability to extract data from non-relational data sources.
• Advanced modeling methods: Classification (Neural Net, Logistic Regression, DTs, KNN, RF); Regression (Linear, Nonlinear, Boosted Trees); Clustering (K-means, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement experiments and processes to evaluate business performance, new products, and product features.
• Compile data, apply multidimensional aggregation, and evaluate business impact.
• Interact with stakeholders to understand questions, craft methodologies, and deliver insights.
• Mine, model, and analyze large datasets using predictive techniques; validate models and support analytics.
