Job summary

Maximus seeks a data scientist to perform advanced analytics on large datasets and apply ML techniques to improve client programs. You will collaborate with product, engineering, and design teams to design experiments and MVPs, build features from data, and communicate insights to leadership.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in analytics, ML/DL tooling, and cloud data platforms, with strong SQL, Python, and visualization skills.

Qualifications

• A PhD is preferred (Doctoral degree)
• 5+ years using ML/DL frameworks (e.g., Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras) and related algorithms (CNN, GAN, LSTM, RNN, XGBOOST)
• 5+ years data engineering with big data architectures (Hadoop, SQL, HIVE, Spark, Snowflake) on major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• 5+ years programming in Python, Scala, or Julia
• Experience deploying ML models into production with MLOps is a plus
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical partners

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on data analysis and modeling with large datasets.
• Apply data mining, NLP, and ML to improve personalization algorithms.
• Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, and designers on experiments and MVPs.
• Develop and maintain dashboards that automate analysis and present trends.
• Assist in survey design and analyze survey results.
• Advise on data capture opportunities for program initiatives.
