Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a Data Scientist II in Decision Science to drive decision-making through advanced analytics, causal inference, and ML. You will build predictive models, run experiments, and translate insights into actionable business recommendations for platform engagement and product features.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Applied Math, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or related quantitative field and 2+ years of industry experience.
• Advanced knowledge of ML methods using Python and SQL.
• Familiarity with Git and Airflow workflows.
• Excellent communication and data storytelling skills for non-technical partners.
• Experience with supervised and unsupervised ML techniques.
• Experience with Online Experimentation and Causal Inference methods.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced statistical and ML techniques to large, complex datasets to extract actionable insights in a commercial setting.
• Develop robust predictive models and identify causal relationships using Experimentation and Causal Inference.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business problems, formulate hypotheses, and design experiments.
• Independently extract and integrate data from multiple data systems, including writing complex SQL queries.
• Support delivery of results and presentations to stakeholders, translating analyses into clear recommendations.
• Stay up-to-date on Gen AI, causal inference, and ML, sharing knowledge with the team.
