Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a Data Scientist II to drive decision-making through advanced analytics, ML modeling, and causal inference. You will work with cross-functional teams to define problems, design experiments, and deliver impactful insights on platform engagement and game features.

The role emphasizes extracting data from multiple systems, writing complex SQL, and communicating results effectively to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Applied Math, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or related quantitative field, plus at least 2 years of industry experience.
• Advanced knowledge of ML methods using Python and SQL.
• Familiarity with development tools and practices including Git and Airflow.
• Excellent communication and data storytelling skills for non-technical partners.
• Experience with supervised and unsupervised ML techniques and online experimentation.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced statistical and ML techniques to analyse large datasets and extract actionable insights.
• Develop robust predictive models and identify causal relationships using experimentation and causal inference.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define problems, formulate hypotheses, and design experiments.
• Independently extract and integrate data from multiple data systems, including writing complex SQL queries.
• Present results to stakeholders and translate analyses into actionable recommendations.
• Stay up to date on latest Data Science advancements and share knowledge with the team.
