Job summary

Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. seeks a Research Scientist I to join the NYS Office of Mental Health, Office of Population Health and Evaluation. The role focuses on data analytics, reporting, and building data infrastructure for program evaluation.

The candidate will develop analytic pipelines, process large datasets, create BI reports, and contribute to manuscripts and technical documents in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with professional research experience or a master's degree substituting for one year.
• Advanced degree (PhD) may substitute for additional experience.
• Experience in data analysis, reporting, or data visualization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support federal and state reporting through data preparation, validation, analysis, and documentation.
• Develop data infrastructure and analytic pipelines for recurring and ad hoc analyses.
• Process and analyze large administrative datasets including health and justice data.
• Create BI reports, tables, visualizations, and analytic summaries for stakeholders.
• Apply statistical tools to explore data, identify patterns, and support evaluation.
• Design data workflows and visualizations with a small team of developers and analysts.
• Assist with manuscript writing and technical reports.
