Job summary

The New York State Office of Mental Health seeks a Research Scientist 2 in the Office of Population Health & Evaluation to support evaluation of hospital-related initiatives and programs. The role involves survey development, qualitative data collection and analysis, and producing reports for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities include conducting interviews and focus groups, developing dashboards (Tableau), and disseminating findings to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and three years of professional research experience in an appropriate field OR a master’s degree and two years of professional research experience in an appropriate field.
• A Ph.D. in an appropriate field may substitute for an additional year of experience.
• Fields include Biostatistics, Economics, Epidemiology, Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or a related social science field.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and liaise with program oversight, providers and other stakeholders.
• Conduct interviews and focus groups.
• Develop and conduct surveys using REDCap software.
• Conduct qualitative analyses and written reporting.
• Support development of interactive reporting (e.g., Tableau) for leadership and stakeholders.
• Prepare and present evaluation findings to program stakeholders.
• Prepare reports, research papers, reviews and summaries for senior leadership.
