Job summary

Driveway Finance Corporation is seeking a Data Scientist I to help build and validate models, monitor performance, and translate results into actionable insights for Lithia and Driveway teams, including Driveway.com, sales, and marketing. This hybrid role is based in Tigard, OR and involves collaboration with cross-functional partners.

You will analyze portfolio performance, develop pricing analytics, and communicate methods and impact to both technical and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a quantitative field (data science, statistics, math, CS, eng, econ, finance, actuarial) or closely related; advanced degree is a plus.
• 3+ years of relevant experience as a data scientist, including credit risk analytics or related quantitative work.
• Hands-on experience developing, testing, or validating statistical or ML models using Python, R, or similar tools.
• Strong SQL skills with large, complex datasets, including data prep, reconciliation, and quality assessment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze US vehicle lending and leasing portfolio performance, identify risk trends, and deliver actionable recommendations.
• Develop and maintain credit risk models, decision rules, risk tiers, and related analytical strategies.
• Test and validate models and credit policies using historical analysis, back-testing, simulations, and performance measures.
