Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Data Scientist for Fleet Planning within the Global Fleet and Products (GFP) organization. You will build models to optimize vehicle allocation, test and measure model impact with program teams, and present deep-dive outputs to senior leadership to explain implications of recommendations.

The role requires 2+ years in data science, strong SQL/Python/R/SAS/Matlab experience, and 1+ years mentoring researchers and contributing to educational content.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of data scientist experience.
• 3+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience.
• 3+ years of machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, and parameters that affect their performance experience.
• 1+ years of guiding and coaching a group of researchers experience.
• 1+ years of working with or evaluating AI systems experience.
• 1+ years of creating or contributing to mathematical textbooks, research papers, or educational content experience.
• Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), or experience working in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)

Responsibilities

• Build models and automation for planners for generating vehicle allocation plans
• Partner with program teams to test and measure success of implemented model
• Lead reviews with senior leadership, deep dive model outputs and explain implications of model recommendations.
