Job summary

LMI is seeking a Data Scientist to support Army ammunition planning and resupply through data-driven analytics and ML models. You will develop, sustain, and refine forecasting, dashboards, and data products in collaboration with logisticians and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, CS, or related field.
• 2-5 years of data science experience.
• Proficient in Python and SQL for data prep, analysis, and modeling.
• Experience building/validating regression, time series, or classification models.
• Experience with large structured datasets in relational DBs or data warehouses.
• Strong quantitative and communication skills; able to translate business questions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and refine forecasting and analytics models for ammunition consumption and resupply.
• Maintain and enhance Vantage-based analytics, dashboards, and data products.
• Integrate/validate data into Vantage pipelines to centralize munitions data.
• Perform descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analytics to identify trends and opportunities.
• Gather requirements with logisticians and stakeholders to define analytical use cases.
• Develop reproducible workflows using Python, SQL; document model logic and assumptions.
• Monitor model performance and key metrics; prepare visualizations and summaries for leadership.
• Support backlog with user stories and technical tasks related to data science work.
