Job summary

LMI is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to build and deploy ML capabilities for a U.S. Army customer. You will move models from concept to production on LMI platforms, collaborating with engineers, operators, and mission users to support Army analysis and decision-making.

This hybrid role is based in Washington, DC, with regular client-site work and occasional travel to LMI HQ in Tysons, VA. You must hold an active Secret clearance and be a U.S. citizen.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship required.
• 7+ years of data science, analytics, or data engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python and/or R and SQL.
• Experience across the analytics and ML lifecycle from data prep to deployment.
• Ability to communicate complex results to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, train, validate, and deploy ML models from problem framing to production monitoring.
• Build production-grade data pipelines and code for deployment on client and internal platforms.
• Translate mission needs into well-scoped analytic problems and clear recommendations.
• Engineer features and data workflows across structured and unstructured sources; perform ETL and QA.
• Collaborate with software, platform, and DevSecOps teams to deploy and maintain models.
• Apply MLOps practices to ensure auditable, secure, and repeatable models.
• Mentor junior data scientists and help set technical direction for the team.
