Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Data Scientist to turn data into actionable insights across Finance, Operations, Marketing, and Development. You will write SQL and Python, build models, and create BI dashboards in Power BI and Looker to empower decision-making.

The role emphasizes hands-on analytics from descriptive to prescriptive, collaboration with cross-functional partners, and delivering clear recommendations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, computer science, or related quantitative field.
• 3+ years of data science, analytics, or business analytics with hands-on SQL/Python and ML modeling.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake) and BI tools (Power BI or similar).
• Experience supporting cross-functional stakeholders in finance, ops, or marketing analytics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Write SQL and Python to build, test, and maintain analytical datasets and pipelines in Snowflake.
• Build descriptive analytics: dashboards, KPI frameworks, and ad hoc queries.
• Build predictive models: forecasting, segmentation, and other ML models.
• Build prescriptive analysis: scenario modeling and recommendations.
• Partner with Finance, Ops, Marketing, and Development stakeholders to scope analytical questions and translate business problems into data solutions.
• Design and maintain BI dashboards for self-serve reporting across teams.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to surface trends, anomalies, and root causes in business performance.
• Present findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
