Job summary

Chevron is seeking a Data Scientist in Houston to translate business opportunities into data, AI, and ML solutions that deliver measurable value. You will frame problems, prototype AI-enabled products, and support scalable adoption across Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream.

The role requires 5+ years of analytics experience, strong Python and Azure skills, and the ability to engage stakeholders while mentoring teams through the modeling lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience applying advanced analytics.
• Depth in ML, statistics, data mining.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and its tools.
• Proficient in Python.
• Ability to translate business needs into data science opportunities with measurable value.
• Awareness of data quality, governance, lineage, and responsible use of enterprise data.
• Familiarity with model lifecycle management and MLOps practices.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to apply data science, ML, and AI-enabled workflows to improve decisions and outcomes.
• Define the expected business value, success measures, and adoption considerations.
• Identify needed data and the right technologies to solve challenges.
• Clean data and develop and test models.
• Establish the lifecycle management process for models.
• Engage stakeholders to communicate progress, quantify impact, and support adoption and further opportunities.
• Provide technical mentoring in modeling and analytics.
